VisionIdeas..... Ideas as we all know are scarce. Good ideas are most illusive. Great ideas are seldom seen. It is the primary task then of ZiOSS to develop methods so that creative individuals can "generate useful ideas" . Creative individuals obviously already generate ideas on their own, but in all likelihood not in a prolific manner or with relevancy to a specific task at hand. The gauntlet for all of us in the 21st century is to be able to generate ideas in a predictive manner, without destroying the very environment and conditions required for ideas to surface. High-pressure corporate environments are seldom satisfactory. It is crucial then that the enviroment of Zioss itself be the first instance of this concept. The company will internally develop unique tools and methods that encourage idea formation, with result that the all important "seeds" of ideas will form. Without a viable seed one will not succeed in that next step... incubating that seed into a viable innovation. And the further task, even more daunting, is to provide for these methods and tools to be easily transposed into any company or situation whether it be as a different culture/language, or in a different level of technology, etc. Innovations..... Innovation seems to be the catch-phrase in the current business environment. One would then be lead to think innovation is a new idea in the world today. Certainly though we can all agree that there has been innovation throughout history. The "newness" to the word, in reality, has to do with the growing awareness of the importance of "innovation" in everyone's life. Whether it be for the highly developed countries in the world, or for those countries struggling to strengthen their economies and advance their position in the world... everyone actually needs innovation in many aspects of activity. There is hardly any human endeavor that was not at one stage an innovation, and that even still would benefit greatly from even heavier doses of further innovation. One might easily argue in fact that it is "human nature" to be innovative and inquisitive. If that premise is accepted then one can agree that the focus should be in creating an environment, creating tools and methods, and creating incentives... all so that innovation flourishes. Integrity.... Zioss will ensure that all its activities are carried out with the highest integrity. Ideas, innovations, designs, concepts, contracts, etc. can develop only in an environment and structure that ensures all parties are treated fairly. However the most important point to this is that Zioss wishes not only to be able to innovate, but to also be able to see innovation feed on itself and grow in leaps and bounds. This can never occur without a high level of integrity in the company and all its employees. . .... in Practice What would be the point of course to have great ideas if they were not of a practical nature. This applies not only to products, but also to any idea that would require change for the user, whether it be processes, activities, etc. If the change is not practical, in the eyes of the user, then one would have to agree that the idea would never be embraced. Again, in order to "multiply" the beneficial effects of new ideas and innovations, Zioss will want to ensure that there is a practical need for the new product, service, concept, etc. The market forces in the world are very strong, and also have a very strong momentum. Bringing change then is a difficult process, but the process is made easier when common sense is applied together with the idea/innovation. And a case can be made that the smart application of common sense in that stage of moving thru a new idea towards innovation, will result in... innovation. This is Zioss's task... to develop this process. ObjectivesZiOSS strives as a company to develop new ideas and solutions and products that will be applicable to fill customers needs. Ideas that are innovative and uniquely targeted to the customer and their business needs. Corporate policy also dictates that ZiOSS at all times operate with the highest level of integrity without fail. And... ZiOSS will always produce practical solutions based on their years of experience in the business world. Team (Senior Management)
Latest 3D TechnologyZioss’ 3D photography is based on new technology that uses the latest professional digital SLR cameras/lenses, and uses the fastest computers available now, along with new software, that when combined together there results the capablity to generate 3D images from a series of photographs taken of the desired scene. Only of late have all of the tools become available that allow for smooth production of 3D images (high-end digital cameras, very fast Macs, and 3D photographic-imaging software developed to take full advantage of the camera and computer capabilities). 3D History“3D” imaging has been around for a long time in fact. However it should be noted that in the ZiOSS 101 (the basics)Zioss Sdn Bhd is a new company of Bob Ziegler and some family members. After almost 30 years in Malaysia, with his own companies (manufacturing, etc.), he had recently decided to retire from those activities and move on to new things. Zioss is a new start then to use his skills and experiences to attempt to find an efficient solution to one of the ever present needs in the market, which could be defined as: businesses constantly looking for strategic advantages in the marketplace. It has become clear over the years that businesses are constantly at each others throats for better, cheaper, faster... ad infinitum. In that atmosphere the strength of market forces plays on all parties. The solution to this conundrum was illusive, until it was realized that it was "new product development" that was the real key that stood the test of time. The solution appears to be -- to be able to consistently have product that puts one business ahead of others. ("Service" substituted for "product" also applies in respect of the service industry). After much thought the last years, it has become obvious that innovation is this key. Innovation floats to the surface after hugely intense efforts in so many areas: ideas, design, quality, processes, constant renewal... and more. One should realize that the most valuable contribution to one's own businesses has to be persistence in innovating. Whether it is in terms of machinery invented, processes developed, products & packaging designed, concepts marketed, or market problems that were resolved.... experience shows that innovation is by far the most fulfilling. Two of the most valuable lessons one can learn then are, to "think out of the box" (creativity); and to be persistent, at times to the extreme. As an example, one of the important values of the Japanese way is their Kaizen approach... continuous incremental improvement (persistence). In lightheartedness one might think they have refined that to the point of irritation! It is also an opinion though that their culture is very often lacking in that all important attribute of "thinking out of the box". Perhaps Japan's intense Kaizen approach does though still generate innovations; but one cannot help but think that a heavier dose of creativity would give greater results in their efforts. As in most all cultures though a key task is to find ways to allow creativity to surface and not be suppressed by particular cultural roadblocks. At risk of delving too deeply into this at this point in time, a further point to make is that these two traits of persistence and creativity will reinforce each other. Certainly there are times when someone will come up with a brilliant new idea (Velcro is an example possibly). But how often does that happen? On the other side of the coin, a would-be inventor can slog for his entire life on one idea, being a living example of persistence, and possibly never reach conclusion, for reason of losing the ability to look at new angles. But I do think that persistence and creativity combined closely will lead to many many positive developments. Of course one also needs to have all the necessary resources available, human and materiel. Possibly this also can be a definition of innovation: persistent creativity... or if not a definition of the word itself then at least it defines a path to that end. A sidebar on the Velcro issue... this innovation arose when someone associated a plant's cocklebur with a zipper.[i] Therein lies the key also, which is to develop methods, tools and conditions for random association in order to improve an individual's ability to generate ideas/innovations. Actually human life itself is the perfect cauldron for innovation. The task though is to harness this without restraining the individual, and to provide conditions pushing for a full gallop. It could be said also that most of the innovations that elicit the, "why didn't I think of that !" response are ones resulting from someone making an association between otherwise completely unrelated things, ideas, experiences, concepts, etc. (How could a cocklebur have any association with a zipper in normal circumstances? !) One last point that should be made. One might ask what is the motivation for Zioss and its founder? At the risk of sounding altruistic... one could state that it is crucial to establish a direction for the future that our children can carry onwards. And that this way forward be not to the exclusion of others, for to exclude others from a prosperous future is to destroy the future for everyone. That brings up a sidebar...possibly some cynicism is making its way into our souls as we age... but one cannot help but feel that the future of the world is at risk. The end of the cold war has certainly not (yet?) brought enlightenment for peace, as many had expected. It is now painfully obvious that the feeling of many people in the world, in being excluded from progress and development, is one of hopelessness for the future of their children. The whole world sees now, in our "instant media", who has the "good life" and who has the "bad life". Putting aside for the moment the arguments as to whose system and values are better, one has to agree that if every person is not in a position to be able to improve their lives and the future of their children, then where is the future for anyone? |
